So far, this 7 posts in 7 days challenge hasn't been that hard... until today. Looking over my archives I realized that I rarely post on Saturdays, or Sundays. I don't really know what to say. So, here's a picture of Sean's cake:
It was very yummy. I was a little disappointed with the consistency of the frosting. I followed The Pioneer Woman's directions but should have followed my own instincts. Maybe I didn't whip it as much as she did because mine was kind of grainy, not light and fluffy. Or maybe it was the humidity. Oh well, live and learn. It tasted good and that's what counts.
Happy Saturday!
Okay...a decadent picture...recipe link??? Paleese????
ReplyDeleteIt's just a Betty Crocker GF chocolate cake made with greek yogurt instead of water. I also added mini chips to the cake batter before baking. The frosting is from The Pioneer Woman.
DeleteIt looks yummy! Of course I'm a chocoholic and everything and anything chocolate is yummy to me. :-). Maybe you could send me a teeny piece? Just kidding. I'm glad it tasted good!

We do have some left over, but the birthday boy is guarding them! :)
DeleteIs that PW's ganache recipe? I've learned two things about making it: 1) after you pour the hot cream over the chips, make sure that you let it sit long enough to melt the chocolate completely, then mix until very smooth; 2)make sure it's cool when you start whipping and don't over whip or it starts to approach a grainy butter consistency. But at long as it tastes good, that's all that matters!
ReplyDeleteNo, it's actually her mocha frosting. I've got a great ganache recipe that I love and I completely agree, you have to be patient with ganache.
DeleteI gained ten pounds just looked at the beauty of that cake! Shame on you! It is gorgeous and now I am hungry... for chocolate!
