{p,h,f,r} Firsts

Instagram seems to be my best camera option right now since Miss Cupcake just gets way too excited when she sees my regular camera and tries to climb up my body to get to it.

{pretty}
Simple celebrations are sometimes what you need.
 I love how the Instagram filters make my ugly, yellow-tinged, breakfast table light look almost pretty. Like it was supposed to look that way.

{happy}
This picture just makes me happy. This was a few days before Cupcake took her first unassisted steps. Yes, you read that right. Steps! More on that to come.

{funny}
Cupcake's first trip to a restaurant... Sunday brunch at Corner Bakery after Mass.
She is such a hoot!
She ate a little banana, a little avocado and a little chocolate muffin. Yum!

{real}
Life is about to get real interesting!
Don't you love the little drunken sailor routine at the beginning?
She walked from the couch to the ottoman to get a bottle with some coffee in it. Don't judge me.
Yes, I put coffee in a bottle for my baby because she kept half-drowning herself in my mug and was still coming back for more.
Walking. And coffee. Not even a year old. That's my baby!

    1. Hah! YES!!! Duct tape is my favorite decorating tool! Just kidding. Our fireplace hearth is made out of very rough brick, as opposed to smooth brick. And Miss Cupcake finds it it fascinating. Since she is still crawling and a little unsteady on her feet, I covered it with a layer of foam and used the duct tape to keep it in place. It's only temporary. Once she's a little older we will remove it. I probably should have used something prettier than the grey stuff. They make some very decorative duct tapes these days. In my dreams, I'd love to remove the whole thing since we don't really use our fireplace much here in Texas.

    2. I thought that's what it must be for. I had two babies after we bought this house and we too have rough rock around our high fireplace ledge. With the first guy, I think I pushed the coffee table up against it. With the second guy, I don't think I did anything, even though it was vaguely in the back of my head that he could toddle and trip and get a nasty cut. My youngest has many hovering older siblings and a super-busy guardian angel.

  9. That's so funny about the coffee! Wow! It's amazing how children just are themselves, right from the get-go. Funny girl.

  10. If it is any consolation, many cultures deem it perfectly normal to give babies coffee! I resisted with my first two daughters, but now the third, at three, demands it regularly...
