Christmas Eve

Decorating the tree...
That would be my 13 year old son right there. Yes, sigh, we need a bigger tree!

Roaring fire on the television...
I put this on as a joke for the kids since our weather was very un-chestnuts-roasting-on-an-open-fire-ish. They were fascinated by it! Ooohhh, look at the sparks. Hey Mom, the third log finally caught on fire. Crazy kids!

We had Midnight Mass at the Vatican streaming on the computer in the other room. It was a very relaxing evening. Everyone went to bed excited to wake up, head to Mass to delight in our Savior's birth and then come home to enjoy the generosity of the season.

  1. Charlotte, David did the same thing with the "fire"! LOL I was in the kitchen and heard the crackling, turned around to see it on the computer screen. We saw Mabel going up to it very cautiously, hands out in front, slowly inching forward to figure out if it was real or not only to discover and announce, "That's fake!" Merry Christmas!

  2. Too funny. My brother-in-law had his 'fake fire' on netflix during our Christmas party too. My 8 year old daughter kept saying she was hot because of the fire! I think it may have more to do with her running around playing ping pong though. haha

  3. Regarding your 13yo: my kids' main requirement when picking out a tree is that it must be taller than my eldest son, who is 6'4". Thankfully we have the ceiling to accomodate such a size. Merry Christmas!

  4. Your graham crackers came out beautifully! I bought some dipping chocolate and they just didn't have the consistency we needed for our crackers. We ended up "buttering" them and the texture was not as smooth. Your's are lovely. Merry Christmas Charlotte. :-)
