Advent Basket of Books
They are all wrapped up and ready to be opened starting tomorrow. One for every day of the Advent season and 12 for Christmas. I am posting the list here as a reminder to me in the future. It seems like I never keep a copy for my records and each year I start from scratch coming up with an order. Hopefully, this post takes care of that. Feel free to peruse the list. You might find one "new to you". Some are secular and some are religious. I'll be back to highlight one of my favorites later.

Wow -- great list! I thought for sure Tomie DePaol's "Clown of God" would be on there .. have you read it? Brings tears to my eyes EVERY reading!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Advent!
I don't think I have read that one. I will double check with my oldest who remembers everything we read. Thanks for the suggestion!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list of books! There are some from your basket that we haven't read before and will have to check out. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou haven't read The Clown of God? You must, you must, you MUST!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this list, Charlotte..I have never wrapped our books but I hope to get them wrapped today and our candles made, too. This week-end has been too busy but I am happy to be home ALL day today! Hugs to you and be sure and read Clown of God! :)
ReplyDeleteCharlotte, that was a great post!
ReplyDeleteI'm freaking out with joy over Corgiville Christmas. I have Corgiville Fair from when I was very little. It is one of those books I read and loved over and over many many times. I never knew about the Christmas book. Did a little "one-click" shopping there ;-) An amazingly hysterical book, when read with great inflection and exasperation (the feeling of the innkeeper). "Jesus' Christmas Party" by Nicholas Allan is the favorite book here!
ReplyDeleteI love Mortimer's Christmas Manger. Such a sweet story. We are starting this activity this year, although I do not have enough books. I think I have twelve, so we will count down to Christmas (even though doing it after would be more appropriate).
ReplyDeleteI've heard of doing this before but I thought there was no way I would be able to find that many good Christmas book ("good" being the key word there!). But it looks like you have. I haven't heard of many of the books on your list, but I'm definitely going to keep this in mind and check them out!
