I should have known better than to think I could pull off a cake like this with company coming three days before Christmas. We'll save that idea for another day. For today, Barbara's St. Elizabeth Crown Cake came to the rescue!
That link for the crown cake brought a smile to my face...and memories. I made that cake for an "Our Lady's Princesses"--themed party a couple years ago when I was 6 months pregnant with my third daughter. Let's just say she was born 6 weeks early, and I credit that cake in large part!:) (My other 2 girls were full-term.) However, I should disclose that I am infinitely less efficient than you are, Charlotte! I can't wait to see your version... Merry Christmas! --J.C.
