Thanks!

  1. I love Faith & Family Live's podcasts. They make walking on the treadmill go so fast for me!

  3. Audiosancto.org is my favorite to listen to while I'm doing chores or walking outside. I also keep a cd with the downloads in my car.

  4. There are loads of great things here:

Alternately, you could also check out the Lighthouse Catholic Media and/or their CD of the month club. I have tons of their cd's and listen to them on my iPod regularly.

And then there's always "Sisters Grimm" :P

  6. Try Ancient Faith Radio, especially 'Close to Home' and 'The Opinionated Tailor Talks Shop.' Not specifically Catholic, but I think you'd enjoy anyway!

  7. gosh, i always dwnld EWTN's podcasts! I LOVE 'the journey home' to listen to - sitting and watching the show, not so much, but listening to it on the treadmill is really good.

The World Over, Mother Angelica, Life on the Rock...

  9. I think everybody's covered the Catholic podcasts I've heard of, how about these?
I always listen to these podcasts while I do chores: 12 Byzantine Rulers and The History of Rome. You can find them both by searching on the iTunes store. They're free of course.
I'm not sure if the History of Rome is going to go beyond the Fall of Rome to the Medieval period, but I really hope so. Right now they just finished Hadrian. It's amazing how far Rome came. From the center of worldliness to the center of Christendom! (I'm a history geek.)
Also, this isn't something you can listen to multiple times, but if you go on iTunes and search Liberty Seminary the first podcast link that comes up should be "Interview with Father Alban Waggener- Eastern Orthodox." It's very interesting from an ecumenical standpoint. A Muslim convert who's now a Southern Baptist minister and professor brought in an Anglican priest turned Orthodox priest to talk to his class. I was so inspired by the simple and loving way the Orthodox priest explained the beliefs that the professor challenged him about. They cover everything: icons, saints, excommunication, Mary (he did a great job explaining her). Beware though, the Baptist professor keeps comparing Orthodoxy to Catholicism even though there is no Catholic to confirm or deny his comparisons. That frustrated me.

  18. Homilies from Fr. Jay Scott Newman (St. Mary's in Greenville, SC) and from Fr. John Ehrich (St. Thomas in Phoenix, AZ) are both stellar.

  19. Just wanted to mention to Mary @ Cheerios that I have to use only one earbud and am willing to "pull the plug" and rewind... it's worth it to fill some of that time with some good teaching and meditations.

This is such a great thread. I'm going on a hunt, too. I'm excited about Sr. Shield's podcasts. I had no idea

  21. Definitely Fr. John Riccardo. I really enjoy his talks. My kids will come in the kitchen and ask, "Are you listening to that priest on the iPod again?"

  22. Catholic Answers Live, and The Doctor Is In are good (I usually listen to Dr. Ray but skip the other host when she's on twice a week.)

  23. I guess most of mine are just podcasts of stuff that's actually on the radio. I love skipping commercials. As for stuff actually made for podcasting only, I've found most of them to be pretty amateur and hokey. But I will try a couple of the things suggested by other commenters.
