If you do your laundry in the dungeon (love that image Barb!) or have to carry the clean clothes upstairs to be put away, then you should know that the straps on the crunch can are very thin and might seem too weak to carry a heavy load. You can also carry it by the metal frame on top, but there are no other built in handles. I don't have to worry about carrying it too much because my older kids come to the laundry room to get their clean clothes and put them away. I am usually left with our foldable laundry and BigBoy's stuff. Hangups are put away separately.

ReplyDeleteNO WAY! I totally missed the boat on that training session. Is it too late to train an 18 yo?
Yes way! When I finish a load, I call them and they come pick up their stacks and put them away. It takes them maybe 2 minutes each load. It helps that we cleared out enough old clothes that they have room in their rooms. They would get really frustrated before with bulging drawers.
ReplyDeleteAs far as your 18 year old goes, I think it is too late. But don't worry! He will figure it out in college! That's when I did. It is amazing how neat and tidy you start wanting your space to be when you only have 36 square feet to live in!
I saw that you bought the 17" sq ones but not the bigger ones they actually call laundry baskets. My kids, too, tend to carry their own baskets of clothes up to their rooms and I thought the smaller size like you have would be more manageable weight-wise. ??
ReplyDeleteThey have crunch hampers too, and my boys need a new hamper.
In my next, dream home I will have a laundry closet where everyone has all of their clothes and there is a dressing room. Everything just gets hung up or put away right out of the dryer and this magical place is on the same level as the bedrooms. No one ever asks, "where's my..." and they all do their own loads of laundry which they bring from their rooms in pretty, color coordinated baskets.
